A certified Yoga & Traditional Tantra Teacher Training for men & women. 

A unique course to learn how to teach Hatha Yoga with Vinyasa, Pranayama, Meditation. This 200hr Yoga Alliance internationally certified course will allow you to deepen your practice by participating in the ancient practices of fire ceremony, yantra & mantra meditation, these are Traditional Tantric practices of India. The course is also infused with a devotional teachings and activities from Bhakti Yoga which brings a heart centred approach to the training. The course is supported by an Indian spiritual master who has guided many Westerners in Traditional Tantric practices.

Hosted in the sanctuary of the Austrian Alps this training will take you on a journey of depth into self inquiry, bhakti yoga & holistic living.

This training is hosted in the heart of the Austrian Alps. Tirol’s Alps are a true fountain of strength: crystal clear water, lush green pasture lands, picture-book mountains and clean air. The location is surrounded by breathtaking beauty and unspoilt nature, Tirol is the perfect place for us to explore the depths of yoga.

This teacher training course invites students to experience the practice of yoga through energy and  consciousness. The main style of yoga taught is Hatha with Tantric Vinyasa, this combines vinyasa flowing movements with traditonal Hatha Yoga, vinyasa helps to keep a gentle purifying flow. The practice also holds asanas for longer periods to experience a deeper energetic activation and opening of the body. This creates a practice that is both yin and yang and is therefore suitable for many students.

During the course you will be taught practices from the Traditional Tantric practices of India. This includes fire ceremony, working with the science of Yantras (mandala) and Mantra meditation. These teachings are taught in a devotional way to combine the science of tantra with the path of the heart. The course is a sacred journey into the ancient arts of Yoga, and is supported by Guru Ji Raj Kumar.

During the training we will also study cleansing kriyas and pranyama to purify the mind and deepen our ability to be centred and present in life. Regular devotional singing of kirtan and Hridaya meditation will give you a personal opportunity to open the energy of the heart.

The theory elements cover many topics always including Yogic Philosophy and ancient scriptures such as Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and an introduction into the Ribhu Gita and Devi Gita of ancient India, ayurveda, anatomy, sacred sexuality.

Hatha Yoga – A Tantric Vinyasa

This style is a way of opening the physical body towards greater flexibility as well as opening the energetic channels to receive the natural occurring energy from the environment. This style also works with the arousal of the chakra system that governs and determines our physical, emotional and mental health. By understanding our body from this Tantric perspective we can learn how to develop and maintain good health and an overall awareness of spiritual well being. When we combine gentle Vinyasa movements with the asana we naturally counter balance any intense stretch that the body may experience and therefore reduce the risk of injury for ourselves and students. The Vinyasa practice also helps to flush the body between the asanas of any toxins that have been released through the postures bringing an overall gentle and deepening purification. Using Vinyasa is a choice and some classes can be taught only with the practice of asana therefore bringing a less dynamic flow, this allows the teacher to be in the moment and feel what students need at that particular time.

Alignment

The practice of yoga asana brings profound and innumerable benefits to the physical body however the ultimate aim of all the asanas is to help us sit comfortably in meditation. Each day of the course we will enjoy the opportunity to practice and study asana with this goal in mind; and as we move through the postures we can naturally feel the quietening of the mind and deeper states of peace arise. We will learn how to move our own body in a way that is safe and healthy for the joints, soft tissues and bones and will experience how this strengthens and creates more space and openness within the body and energy system. Once we understand this in our own being we are then able to truly support our students’ alignment and yoga practice. This class will also look at the energetic flow within the asanas and how to maximise and stabilize this.

Traditional Tantric Practices

Tantra is a spiritual path that embraces life in order to awaken consciousness. Within Tantra Yoga various techniques including the use of mantra, yantra, ritual and meditation are used to purify and energise our being bringing a deeper awareness of our spiritual existence. Tantra cultivates a devotional approach to the practice, emphasizing the worship of the Goddess, Shakti and her consort Shiva. As we go deeper into the practice we ultimately experience the divine union of these masculine and feminine attributes.  Mantra is offered and can be practiced each day in the presence of a yantra (mandala) which is created in the first week of the course.

Mantra

A mantra is the sound form a particular energy;  specific sounds, words or phrases are repeated.  By practising the repetition of mantra either by verblising the sound internally or externally we commune with and invoke the beneficial energies specific to the mantra.  Mantra is an important tool used in many spiritual practices and can even be combined with the practice of yoga asana.

Yantra

The yantra is a geometric, design which can be focused upon as a tool for meditation.  The different geometric patterns symbolically represent different aspects of divinity.  On this teacher training we will create and meditate with a yantra for Shiva made from sprouting wheat grass,, and later we will create three coloured rice yantras of Saraswati {goddess of arts, music and education}, Parvati {Shiva’s wife}, Suriya {the sun}.

Tantric Fire Yagna

A Fire Yagna is a sacred fire ceremony.  Offerings of ghee (clarified butter) are thrown on to the fire whilst reciting mantras to honour aspects such as the cardinal directions and particular energies of the Hindu and Yogic traditions that support the success of the ceremony. Special herbs or rice, sugar and sesame seeds are further offered to the fire with a specific mantra depending upon one’s personal sadhana or the group intention.
Fire Yagna is a highly purifying spiritual practice that enables us to commune with different energies of Shakti or Shiva, energies that raise our awareness and consciousness.

Bhakti Fire Puja

Bhakti Fire Puja is a combination of a Tantric and shamanic fire ceremony. It is a beautiful ceremony of devotion that combines elements of a Tantric Fire Puja with a spontaneous flow of bhajans and prayer.
Traditional Vedic mantras are used that elevate consciousness and bring a deep communion with inner most truth.

Pranayama

Pranayama can be translated as the expansion and increasing of our vital life force. We absorb Prana (life force) most directly through the breath and through our food. In the pranayama exercises of Hatha Yoga we make use of this by manipulating the breath – breathing into different areas of the body, using specific rhythms and movements. We learn to hold the breath in to energise our system and to increase our capacity to store Prana; we hold the breath out to direct the energy in the subtle body with the ultimate aim of purifying both body and mind.
The rhythmic breathing exercises of the Hatha Yoga tradition are strong practices which bring profound benefits: they purify the nadis (energy channels) of both the physical and subtle anatomy releasing blockages and stress and helping us feel a greater sense of balance and steadiness.

Pranayama is an important step on the journey of yoga as it helps expand the individual personal energy into universal energy.
Ayurveda is the sister science of Hatha Yoga and offers a profound system of self-healing. In the TTC we will draw on the Ayurvedic teachings offering ways to eat and cook that maximise our intake and absorption of Prana.

Cleansing Kriyas & Purification

We will teach ancient yogic practices used to promote a healthy body and energetic system such as nauli kriya for intestinal support and neti for clearing the sinus passages. Furthermore we will offer detoxifying practices such as oil pulling, salt rubbing and tongue scraping for healthy gums as well as other tips and techniques.

Hridaya Meditation

During the course we practice Hridaya Meditation, a technique which focuses continually upon the Spiritual Heart as a way to reveal deep inner peace and the natural joy that emanates from our natural state. The teachings are a beautiful unity of Advaita Vedanta, Sufism, Buddhism and Kashmir Shaivism.  Central to the practice is  the self-enquiry, ‘Who am I?’ and continually bringing the awareness back to the spiritual heart, which can be sensed by focusing at the centre of the chest near the physical heart.  We will also have the opportunity to experience Hridaya Hatha Yoga where we aim to remain present and witness our asana practice from beyond the mind, from the stillness that lies at the core of who we really are.

Kirtan

Kirtan is an ancient form of Bhakti Yoga, the Yoga of devotion. When we chant Kirtan we use special mantras. Mantras are words, phrases, and syllables that are repeated until they become integrated into our consciousness. Many people are discovering this sacred, traditional practice allowing them to access a greater opening of the heart, deep inner peace and connection. When we give ourselves permission to sing and dance freely, releasing and expressing through our voices and bodies, the emotions which are tightly locked in our hearts become free. This takes the practitioner into a blissful state of openness and love and it is in that moment that we remember Kirtan is an offering, a gift to the Divine who has given us everything, and to whom we can give nothing in return but our loving remembrance, our voices and our hearts.

Group Activities & Meditations

Group activities are an opportunity to deepen the inter relating of the group. As teachers it is also useful to learn various ways to hold space other than a standard Yoga class.

The Teachers

Ra Lalita Dasi’s Biography
RadasiRadasi breaths, studies, teaches and loves her deepest passion, and that is to live a life immersed in Yoga, Meditation, Tantra, Dance, Devotion and Ritual. Her earlier years set foundations to truly value life and from being a child there was always an inner calling to explore the more esoteric aspect to existence. She was introduced to Yoga eighteen years ago while she was studying an advanced diploma in Holistic counseling therapy. Since then she developed as a counseling therapist, a children’s teacher, Reiki Master, and a teacher and facilitator of Yoga, Traditional Tantra, Sacred Dance and Hridaya Meditation.

She has accrued over 2000 hours in training, including ten years studying to become a teacher trainer in Tantra and Kundalini Yoga with Agama Yoga, and during a five year period she participated and later coordinated ten day silent mediation retreats in Hridaya Yoga, the Path of the Heart which is inspired by Advaita Vedanta, Sufism, and Kashmir Shaivism., this led her to studying Hridaya’s first 500 hour Meditation & Hatha Yoga teacher training course. These retreats and trainings allowed her to directly experience a deep sense of inner silence and peace that lies beneath the fluctuations of the human mind. With her heart centred practice and the ever growing wisdom of balancing her own female and inner male energies her life is devoted to experience greater union and a recognition of the stillness that lies at the core of our being. Radasi incorporates this into all that she offers, embracing Kirtan, Fire Ceremony and the ultimate path of staying in the present moment.

Radasi also attended a 200 hour teacher training course with Mystical dance teacher Monika Nataraj and assisted her 2012 teacher training course, these experiences allowed her to go deeper into the sublime expression of sacred femininity and she now teaches Sacred dance and women’s yoga teacher trainings worldwide, empowering women to connect with the beauty and power of their essence.  In recent years she co founded Yogini Devi, a Yoga teacher training school that was specially designed for women. The development and success of this project and the trainings offered prepared the foundation for the development of Satyaloka school, to teach the  unique and authentic teachings of Yoga and Tantra to both men and women

She gives great gratitude to all of her past teachers, and to those who she has direct contact with in this present time, Guru Ji Raj Kumar, Sri Prem Baba, Sahajananada & Swami Vivekananada. She has also been guided by Amma & Sri Moo Ji as well as other shamans and spiritual teachers of this time. She feels a deep commitment to sharing traditional teachings to help others to recognise their true nature and to experience the beauty of life.

At this time in her life she is closely connected to the direct guidance and Traditional Tantric teachings of Guru Ji Raj Kumar. She visits his home and temple a number of times each year to live directly in his presence and receives different sadhanas [spiritual practices] to learn how to embody and further teach a tradition of tantra that has kept its authenticity and ancient practices.

During her life she has lived in spiritual communities and ashrams including various yoga communities, a women’s community in Avalon, and the Kriya yoga Ashram, to which she feels deeply connected to their linage master Sri Avatara Babaji. She spends each year travelling, teaching and living between Thailand, India, Russia and Europe, offering courses and various workshops, retreats and classes.

When Radasi is not teaching she likes to visit sacred sites through pilgrimages, she attends silent retreats and satsang, and practices daily sadhana [personal spiritual practice], which all support to enhance her service and the overall spiritual awakening.

 

Michelle Levi´s Biography

michelle leviPracticing with Clive gave Michelle a deep understanding of the importance of a daily spiritual practice of asana, pranayama and meditation. This self-practice is the foundation from which her teaching evolved and it is the dream that Michelle holds for her students – that they may enjoy the ever-enriching benefits of a daily self-practice – to feel a sense of peace and connection from within is a priceless gift.

Very soon after meeting Clive, he encouraged Michelle to begin teaching. And so with his blessing, yet no formal yoga qualification, she began teaching; firstly covering classes in health centres around London and then soon taking on classes of her own.

Her love of children and her belief in the benefits of yoga led her to train in Yogabugs to bring yoga to children also and so she began classes in schools.

After some time of leading a successful career as a yoga teacher in London, Michelle was drawn to an in-depth Yoga Teacher Training Course that would provide 9 months of full-time dedicated study and a formal qualification. The training allowed Michelle to delve deeper into the study of yogic philosophies, various styles of asana such as Ashtanga, Iyengar and Vinyasa and other related subjects. The TTC was with YogaArts, Byron Bay, Australia and Michelle is so grateful for the opportunity to immerse herself so fully in the world of yoga for 9 months solid whilst being supported by the intense vibrancy of Mother Nature in Australia.

Upon returning to London Michelle continued teaching yoga working for the Yoga agency, Breathe, teaching private clients as well as groups. Since 2006 the need to live in the countryside has been of high priority and Michelle has been living near Totnes, Devon.

Michelle’s own practice and teaching style is continually evolving; in recent years she has been influenced by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli through working with Diane Long and Paddy McGrath.

Michelle has undertaken some personal silent retreats, 3-month and 1-month in length which have been key in her spiritual development. These retreats have been at Gaia House sitting primarily with Rob Burbea and studying the Buddha’s teachings on Emptiness, Michelle offers immense gratitude to Rob: his generous heart and brilliant mind have inspired her in a way words cannot describe.

Another teacher Michelle wishes to thank is Sahajananda and his teachings of the Hridaya, the Spiritual Heart drawing from the paths of Advaita Vedanta and Tantra. Always central to Michelle’s practice and teaching is the connection to the Spiritual Heart and the importance of kindness.

Music, singing, dance, and devotion are passions key in Michelle’s life and she has been involved in sacred rituals of both India and the Amazon for many years playing piano accordion and harmonium.

Michelle first met Radasi in a ritual ceremony in 2009 and immediately recognised her as a kindred spirit – a fellow yogini immersed in the world of bhakti. She is so happy to be collaborating now on these TTCs and sharing their gifts together and helping to spread the wondrous medicine of Yoga.

How to find us

By Car

Located on the Tyrolean Fernpass, in the north-west of Austria, close to the German border the AlpenRetreat is easily reached via the Fernpassstrasse B179 (E532).
At the top of the Fernpass (Fernpasshöhe) there is a petrol station named "Dolle". Opposite of it on the other side of the street is a roadside restaurant (Fernpaß Rast), a red building, and a big yellow building (the former Fernpass hotel). Follow the small street between the restaurant and the yellow house for about 200m and you have reached the AlpenRetreat.

Füssen – Reutte – Heiterwang – Lermooser Tunnel – Fernpass (AlpenRetreat) – Nassereith. At the border-tunnel in Füssen the Fernpasstrasse connects with the federal highway 310 and the A 7. In Nassereith it merges into the B 189 along the Inntal (Inn valley) in direction south-east towards Telfs and in south-west direction towards Imst.

In winter it is compulsory in Austria to have winter tires on your car. Although the Fernpassstrasse is well maintained and therefore easily accessible, sometimes the streets can still be covered in snow. In exceptional cases snow chains may be required (very rarely). If you are coming with a rental car, make sure it is equipped with winter tires (the rental company is obliged to provide this).
