debbie winterIn this workshop we will be learning about different Energy Medicine techniques and also working with the Five Rhythms, particularly the Water Element. We will learn how to keep our Rhythms balanced so we can stay healthy, happy and joyful and move through our lives with ease and grace. I will be teaching techniques from the lovely Donna Eden, and also some deeper techniques from Qigong, Yoga, Mantra & Meditation so we can connect with out true selves and our inner stillness. We will take some lovely walks in the snow, so bring some warm clothes!  And also have time to enjoy the lovely, cosy, friendly atmosphere of the Retreat.

My aim for this workshop is for you to recharge, relax and have fun. I want you to go away feeling empowered and maybe with new understanding and perspective on what you can do to keep your energies balanced to stay happy, healthy andqigong joyful. I will be bringing handouts of simple techniques, exercises, acupressure points etc so you will have something to take home with you if you would like to keep on practicing after the Retreat

“Always be like a water. Float in the times of pain or dance like waves along the wind which touches its surface”
– Santos Kalwar
“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.”
– Edith Sitwell

A little bit about the Water Element
qi gongWinter holds the energy of the Water Element. It teaches us to connect to our natural rhythms and the rhythms of nature. It teaches us to slow down, surrender, and tune in to our body’s needs for stillness, silence, and rest. It’s a time of connecting, of sitting around the fire with a mug of hot cocoa and good friends. Of deep and meaningful conversations. Of good books, early nights and lazy mornings. It’s a time of peace and stillness, of rest and restoration. A time to conserve and gather our energies and our ideas and to reconnect with our inner being.

Water/Winter is full yin, the feminine, it is the energy of our Womb chakra, it is rebirth, the element of emotion and subconscious, of purification, intuition, mysteries of the self, compassion and family. It is the element that feeds our psychic ability. Water/Winter is the time of the year when our inner depths and inner darkness is most accessible to us. It is the place where we are often afraid to journey. When we recognise and reconnect with this darkness we release great potential for healing, renewal and growth!
The emotions associated with the Water Element are fear and courage.

When our Water Element is in balance we are comfortable in our bodies and environment, we are wise, hopeful, at ease, peaceful, gentle, loving, compassionate, caring and enthusiastic. We experience an innate joy of being which is not dependant on external factors. We are spontaneous and are able to flow with any situation, we also possess the courage, willpower and determination to see though any ideas and plans we may have When our Water Element is out of balance we can feel uncomfortable in ourOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

own skin, out of tune with ourselves, we lack well being, we can become negative, suspicious, fearful. We can also lack willpower, courage and determination, and can feel stuck, ‘frozen’,  we experience hopelessness and are unable to move forward.

The Rhythm of Water is embryonic possibility, the spark of an idea, the seed of a new plan. It is reflection, the gathering of our energies, courage and determination which allows us to burst forth in Springtime refreshed, renewed and ready for action!

When all your energies are brought into harmony, your body flourishes. And when your body flourishes, your soul has a soil in which it can blossom in the world. These are the ultimate reasons for energy medicine—to prepare the soil and nurture the blossom.”
  –  Donna Eden

A little bit about me…I love Energy!  My passion in life is working with, teaching and empowering others to take control of their own health, wellness and happiness by working with the energies of the body. I love researching and practicing different healing methods and passing my knowledge on to others so they can get to know their true selves and learn to work with their unique energies. When our energies are strong, balanced and flowing we are Radiant! When we heal and empower ourselves we become a healing force for everybody around us. Good energy is contagious!
These methods have helped me personally many times over the years and I believe can help everyone, regardless of their situation. Energy Medicine and Energy Practices really are the way of the future.

I’m a Qigong & Yoga teacher, a Qigong therapist, Acupressurist (SNHC), Eden Energy Medicine Certified Practitioner, full instructor with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain, member of the Qigong Institute, nature lover, book reader and explorer of healing techniques and practices

By Car

Located on the Tyrolean Fernpass, in the north-west of Austria, close to the German border the AlpenRetreat is easily reached via the Fernpassstrasse B179 (E532).
At the top of the Fernpass (Fernpasshöhe) there is a petrol station named "Dolle". Opposite of it on the other side of the street is a roadside restaurant (Fernpaß Rast), a red building, and a big yellow building (the former Fernpass hotel). Follow the small street between the restaurant and the yellow house for about 200m and you have reached the AlpenRetreat.

Places connected by the Fernpassstraße
Füssen – Reutte – Heiterwang – Lermooser Tunnel – Fernpass (AlpenRetreat) – Nassereith. At the border-tunnel in Füssen the Fernpassstrasse connects with the federal highway 310 and the A 7. In Nassereith it merges into the B 189 along the Inntal (Inn valley) in direction south-east towards Telfs and in south-west direction towards Imst.

In winter it is compulsory in Austria to have winter tires on your car. Although the Fernpassstrasse is well maintained and therefore easily accessible, sometimes the streets can still be covered in snow. In exceptional cases snow chains may be required (very rarely). If you are coming with a rental car, make sure it is equipped with winter tires (the rental company is obliged to provide this).
