‘Spring Detox Retreat’ – Strength, Growth, Vitality

Yoga-Detox-Qigong-Retreat-Austria-TirolIn keeping with the Wood Element of Traditional Chinese Medicine (see more below) We will detox and get our energies flowing with green smoothies & plant based meals. We will tap into a new strength and vitality by spending time in nature and rising early to great the day. We will improve our insight and clear vision with Energy Medicine, vision boards and meditation. And balance body, mind and soul with beautiful yoga, qigong and dance.

We plan for you to leave this Retreat feeling refreshed, revitalised and radiant! And with a renewed sense of purpose and vision.

The Wood Element
Springtime! the birds are singing, the days are starting to get longer and there’s a new freshness and excitement in the air! Spring marks the end of the winter stillness and the start of a new, active phase in nature. In Traditional Chines Medicine we are in the time of the Wood Element which represents action and clear vision, it feeds our imagination and gives us the energy and motivation to follow our dreams

The Wood Element governs:Debbie-Qi-Gong-Yoga-Retreat
season – spring
organs – liver & gallbladder
direction – east
colour – green
senses – eyes
tissue – ligaments
taste – sour
emotions – anger, frustration, resentment, kindness, compassion, forgiveness

Schedule
In keeping with the spirit of the Wood Element we will be remaining flexible with the schedule and may change it slightly depending on the weather and the mood of the group

Warm lemon juice and fruit will be available in the morning, and if you’d like to try it, coconut oil for pulling and detoxing the mouth!

Qi-Gong-Retreat-AustriaDebbie Caruso
I grew up with qigong and meditation and later it became my passion in life to teach these powerful practices to others. I later trained in yoga and energy medicine and came to realise that these are actually not different practices, just different techniques that we can use to lead us to the same place…A life of vibrant health, wellbeing and joy. After all…energy is all there is!

When we tune in with the rhythms of nature, and with our own natural rhythms. When we become knowledgable about the workings of our subtle energy body and learn simple techniques to keep our energy systems strong, balance and flowing, we become radiant and can thrive in all aspects of our lives. We empower ourselves and everyone around us….This in Nature’s medicine and our birthright 🙂

I’m a full instructor with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain, a certified yoga teacher with Satya Loka School of Hatha and Traditional Tantra. An Acupressure Therapist (SNHC) and an Eden Energy Medicine Certified Practitioner

Yoga-Teacher-AlpenRetreat-AustriaSian
I have taught yoga for over 10 years developing creative ways of freeing up space and movement in the body through awareness. We experience the world and life
through the body so finding ease of movement means we can open up to life and do all the things that nourish us. Space enables energy to move in the body which brings us greater health and balance in body, mind and spirit. As an Eden Energy Medicine practitioner I enjoy bringing in simple and powerful exercises that boost our yoga practice. Ultimately the practice becomes our own personal journey to develop through self awareness.

Mother Nature is always an inspiration: from the solidity and strength of the trees to the constant rhythm of the waves on the shore that echo the flow of our breath and the reminder to ‘just be’ and return to the eternal nature of inner stillness. The natural cycle of changing seasons remind us to change too; regular reminders that nothing stays the same. I have a BA Hons and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education, I am a registered Diploma Teacher and Member of the British Wheel of Yoga, a level 3 member of REP’s (Registered Exercise Professionals) and an Eden Energy Medicine Certified Practitioner

What to bring
We will be getting some good exercise and fresh mountain air by taking some lovely walks in the surrounding area, so don’t forget to bring some good walking boots!

As the AlpenRetreat is situated at 1200 meters altitude in the Austrian Alps the weather could do anything and there might even be some snow still on the ground. So be prepared, bring some comfy clothes for classes and lounging around and also some warmer clothes for going outside. There are a couple of mountain lakes in the area, if you think you might be brave enough to jump in maybe bring a swimsuit – or not if you are happy to go without 🙂

By Car

Located on the Tyrolean Fernpass, in the north-west of Austria, close to the German border the AlpenRetreat is easily reached via the Fernpassstrasse B179 (E532).
At the top of the Fernpass (Fernpasshöhe) there is a petrol station named "Dolle". Opposite of it on the other side of the street is a roadside restaurant (Fernpaß Rast), a red building, and a big yellow building (the former Fernpass hotel). Follow the small street between the restaurant and the yellow house for about 200m and you have reached the AlpenRetreat.

Places connected by the Fernpassstraße
Füssen – Reutte – Heiterwang – Lermooser Tunnel – Fernpass (AlpenRetreat) – Nassereith. At the border-tunnel in Füssen the Fernpassstrasse connects with the federal highway 310 and the A 7. In Nassereith it merges into the B 189 along the Inntal (Inn valley) in direction south-east towards Telfs and in south-west direction towards Imst.

In winter it is compulsory in Austria to have winter tires on your car. Although the Fernpassstrasse is well maintained and therefore easily accessible, sometimes the streets can still be covered in snow. In exceptional cases snow chains may be required (very rarely). If you are coming with a rental car, make sure it is equipped with winter tires (the rental company is obliged to provide this).
