Women’s New Years Yoga & Meditation Retreat
We are so looking forward to welcoming you at our Women’s New Year Retreat.
It’s the perfect time; coming after the busy-ness of Christmas and New Year when we’ve often given out a lot of ourselves to others and are in need of some me-time and recovery, or simply want something to set us on the right course for at the start of the year.
In Chinese Medicine, winter belongs to the Water Element. It is full, deep yin energy, the feminine, it is the energy of our Womb chakra. It teaches us to connect to our natural rhythms and the rhythms of nature. To slow down, surrender, and tune in to our body’s needs for stillness, silence, and rest.
It is our connection to our ancestors. The energy of rebirth, emotions and the subconscious. It represents purification, intuition and mysteries of the self. It is the element that feeds our psychic ability. As women we are naturally in tune with that which exists just outside of our normal reality.
We simply need to be still and let it be…
It is the time of the year when our inner depths and inner darkness are most accessible to us. It is a place where we often avoid journeying. When we can recognise and reconnect with this darkness we release great potential for healing, renewal and growth!

The Water Element allows us to be comfortable in our bodies and environment, to be wise, hopeful, at peace, gentle, loving, compassionate and enthusiastic. We experience an innate joy of being, which is not dependant on external factors. We are spontaneous and are able to flow with
any situation. We possess courage, willpower and determination.
The weekend practice will be deep meditations by candlelight and slow, nourishing yoga. We will use the breath, five elements, energy medicine and other beautiful techniques to awaken our intuition and connect us to our true nature.
Some examples of our practice: The Ancient taoist practices of Embryonic Breathing and Bone Breathing. Candle Meditation. Chakra Yoga & Meditation. Full Moon Practice & Meditation. Water Element Mudras. Balancing Water Element techniques. Golden Ball of Light Meditation and more…
“And you? When will you begin that long journey into yourself?”
– Rumi
“When all your energies are brought into harmony, your body flourishes. And when your body flourishes, your soul has a soil in which it can blossom in the world. These are the ultimate reasons for energy medicine—to prepare the soil and nurture the blossom.”
– Donna Eden
We want the Retreat to be quiet, calming and nourishing for you and so we’re limiting spaces to 10. To secure your space, please book as soon as you can. If you want to come with friends, there is some availability to stay in rooms with or next to each other, and is available on a first come basis.
The AlpenRetreat is warm and cosy with a beautiful atmosphere. But it will be cold outside! Weather permitting we will take some walks, so please bring some good boots and warm clothes.

About the Teachers
Sian
Since studying and qualifying in Hatha Yoga and Eden Energy Medicine, I’ve loved bringing the two powerful practices together to form a holistic combination to deepen the benefits we can all enjoy in body, mind and spirit and I’ve called it Energy Flow Yoga.
The personal journey through yoga we make is far more important than whether or not we can do a headstand. Mother Nature is always an inspiration; from the solidity and strength of trees to the rhythm of the waves on the shore that echo the rhythm of our breath and the remind us to ‘just be’ . The natural cycle of changing seasons reminds us that nothing stays the same.
Yoga and Energy Medicine have helped me on my journey and I’d love to join you on yours while we’re at the gorgeous AlpenRetreat together!
I have a BA Hons and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education.
I’m a registered Diploma Teacher and Member of the British Wheel of Yoga (2007), the governing body of yoga in the UK which seeks to maintain high quality training and teaching standards.
I am a fully qualified Eden Method Practitioner EEMCP (2016) https://www.innersource.net/em/ and currently studying on the Year 3 programme.

Energy Work is my life and my passion! I love researching and practicing different healing methods and passing my knowledge on to others so they can get to know their true selves and learn to work with their unique energies. When our energies are strong, balanced and flowing we are Radiant! When we heal and empower ourselves we become a healing force for everybody around us. Good energy is contagious!
These methods have helped me personally many times over the years and I believe can help everyone, regardless of their situation. If we want to be happy, healthy, well balanced and really thrive, we have to start at the level of our subtle energies.
I am a certified yoga teacher in Hatha & Traditional Tantra with Satya Loka and have practiced Kundalini Yoga for 16 years, and taught it for the last 8 years.
I am a registered, full instructor with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain, teaching Tai Chi, Qigong, Sound Healing & Meditation.
I have my diploma in Acupressure Therapy SNHC and am a fully qualified Eden Energy Medicine Practitioner EEMCP

By Car
Located on the Tyrolean Fernpass, in the north-west of Austria, close to the German border the AlpenRetreat is easily reached via the Fernpassstrasse B179 (E532).
At the top of the Fernpass (Fernpasshöhe) there is a petrol station named "Dolle". Opposite of it on the other side of the street is a roadside restaurant (Fernpaß Rast), a red building, and a big yellow building (the former Fernpass hotel). Follow the small street between the restaurant and the yellow house for about 200m and you have reached the AlpenRetreat.
Places connected by the Fernpassstraße
Füssen – Reutte – Heiterwang – Lermooser Tunnel – Fernpass (AlpenRetreat) – Nassereith. At the border-tunnel in Füssen the Fernpassstrasse connects with the federal highway 310 and the A 7. In Nassereith it merges into the B 189 along the Inntal (Inn valley) in direction south-east towards Telfs and in south-west direction towards Imst.
In winter it is compulsory in Austria to have winter tires on your car. Although the Fernpassstrasse is well maintained and therefore easily accessible, sometimes the streets can still be covered in snow. In exceptional cases snow chains may be required (very rarely). If you are coming with a rental car, make sure it is equipped with winter tires (the rental company is obliged to provide this).
